Verb, a DTC, text-to-order energy brand, has announced its newest flavor just in time for summer: Lemon Raspberry.
Developed in collaboration with Nick DiGiovanni, the youngest-ever MasterChef finalist, this limited-release bar highlights the natural, light, and refreshing flavors that we often crave during the hot summer months.
“We were really inspired by the way Nick thought about food by providing outstanding taste and make energizing products taste flavorful and unique”, shares Bennett Byerley, one of the co-founder of Verb Energy.
“I knew from the beginning that Verb was serious about doing something that was different and new”, shares Nick DiGiovanni. “The idea was to make something not only summery, but also something creative and collaborative and I feel many companies wouldn’t normally be open to that”.
With this fresh flavor palette top of mind, the Verb team and DiGiovanni worked for four months – oftentimes visiting farmers’ markets themselves in search of inspiration – to develop the ultimate summer combination. With hints of lemon and raspberry throughout, Lemon Raspberry delivers Verb’s signature, all-natural energy-boost with new, unique flavors not typically found in an energy bar.
“When we first launched verb, we were making caffeinated bars in our dorm room and sold them to our peers on campus”, Byerley shares. “People would hear about them and text us for us to hand deliver them. So we continued that very human/authentic experience with every customer that we have with verb”.

All of Verb’s 90-calorie bars have as much caffeine as a shot of espresso and are developed with a flavor-first approach in order to provide tasty, sustainable energy with all-natural ingredients. Current Verb flavors include Maple Blueberry, Coconut Chai, Salted Peanut Butter, Vanilla Latte, and Simply Cocoa.
“We wanted our products to be as inclusive as possible to all”, shares Byerley. “We have found that our bars are a great plant-based source of sustainable energy to deliver energy in the most efficient way.”

Verb’s Lemon Raspberry bar is crafted with natural ingredients like dried lemon peel and an organic raspberry powder made from freeze-dried raspberries. These bright, tangy, and fruity flavors deliver the taste of summer in just one bite.
“I worked very closely with the Verb team and we both had a chef mindset to deliver a summer-forward bar”, DiGiovanni shares. “We wanted to go with a berry flavor for a very fresh feel. We knew we wanted to have a lemon base and we landed on raspberry for a number of reasons: the bright color it brought to the bar, the fresh berry taste with the balance to the acidity and tartness of the lemon. When you’re eating it you find yourself on a journey of flavors”.
“We pride ourselves in listening to our customers”, shares Byerley. “Lemon has been one of the top recommendations from our customers and we knew many of them have been asking for awhile, so we added our own delightful twist to it with Nick’s flare”.
