Sainsbury’s, a well-known supermarket offering a wide selection of vegan groceries, is now launching a brand new range of shoes that are not just vegan, but sustainable as well.
Earlier this year, the massive retail company Marks & Spencer launched a range of affordable vegan shoes. Following suit, Sainsbury’s is introducing its own range of vegan and sustainable shoes.
The range of sustainably vegan shoes come from Love Our Planet Footwear, a PETA-approved footwear company that is dedicated to providing cruelty-free shoes that are also made from sustainable materials.
Every piece used to make the footwear is at least partially recycled. For example, all of the polyester materials used are at least partially recycled, with some being made of 100% recycled polyester. Also, all of the shoe styles available are made from recycled plastic bottles consisting of water-based polyurethane materials, and all of the soles are made out of 100% recycled thermoplastic rubber.
If that isn’t enough, Love Our Planet also takes special care to ensure that the shoeboxes are both sustainable and vegan as well. The boxes are made out of 100% recycled paper, and the ink used for design is soy-based rather than animal-derived.
