Today at 2:30 pm CST, Akashinga: The Brave Ones, will debut as a part of EarthX’s 50th Anniversary Celebration with EarthXFilm’s Virtual Film Festival in their Women Who Never Give Up Shorts.
Executive produced by James Cameron, Akashinga tells the story of Damien Mander, Game Changers star and founder/CEO of the International Anti-Poaching Foundation’s mission to combat the illegal hunting and killing of elephants in Zimbabwe. In their effort to combat this scourge, the country has established an elite troop of rangers, all of whom are women, and called Akashinga. The film shows how women’s training is brutal and rigorous, but their commitment unwavering, motivated by a steadfast belief in their mission.
