Investigative footage and undercover videos are powerful tools in exposing cruel practices happening behind closed doors.
However, many people turn away from these videos, unable to watch because the content is too graphic. Enter: World of Vegan’s illustrated ‘Draw My Life’ videos showing the lives of animals impacted by industrial farming operations through realistic storytelling and hand-drawn artwork.
These 5-minute short films show viewers what animals go through at the hands of humans in an engaging format that won’t cause the viewer to look away. World of Vegan has already reached millions through these videos and receives messages daily from individuals who have decided to go dairy-free, vegetarian, or vegan after watching.
Thus far, World of Vegan has covered the life of a cow, a pig, and a turkey on modern-day farms. In this new short film, they’re taking viewers underwater to uncover a well-hidden secret in the fishing industry: Deep Sea Bottom Trawling.
Bottom trawling is a method of fishing in which a giant net, sometimes hundreds of feet long, is dragged along the sea floor, catching targeted fish as well as any other sea life that crosses its path. Roughly a quarter of the world’s seafood is caught through bottom-trawling, and it’s estimated that up to 90% of what is caught is by-catch that’s later
discarded.
The ‘Draw My Life’ film tells the story of a friendly Sea Turtle who adventures through life in the ocean before becoming trapped in a deep sea bottom trawling net, and discarded as bycatch with thousands of other sea creatures.
Watch the film at YouTube.com/WorldofVegan and join millions of compassionate people who are leaving sea animals off their plates in an effort to create a kinder world.
The film is in English but will soon be released in Spanish and German, with more languages to follow. Stay tuned for more ‘Draw My Life’ videos at WorldofVegan.com.
