While there are many misconceptions about being vegan, two of the most prevalent seem to be that being vegan means missing out and that vegan food can’t be delicious. Brad Baker is busting those vegan food myths with his Brooklyn-based eateries, Terms of Endearment and Hartbreakers.
Terms of Endearment is a nostalgic, cozy vegan patisserie that adds a certain je ne sais quoi to Williamsburg’s refreshed vibe. Both the decor and menu are sprinkled with French notes. From buttery croissants to rich lox, even non-vegans would enjoy Terms’ delectable offerings. We have our eyes on the Bacon Egg & Cheese made with JUST scrambled egg, bacon, cheese, everything seasoning, greens, and créme fraîche on a croissant. C’est Magnifique!
Bushwick’s Hartbreakers is the perfect spot to stop by for some cruelty-free comfort food. This 70’s inspired spot cooks up mouth-watering fried chik’n baskets and delicious salads. Not to mention their drool-worthy sandwiches, like the Thunderbird with fried chik’n, tangy slaw, and pickles with cilantro-jalapeño aioli on a sesame seed bun. YUM! Plus, their animal and human rights mantra is an effort to move the dial away from suffering and toward empathy. Now we can get behind that!
