Southern Roots Vegan Bakery is an online-only vegan bakery that makes vegan baked goods with a Southern twist. They’re so good, you won’t believe it’s vegan! This independent, black-owned business, owned and operated by husband and wife team, Marcus and Cara Pitts, went viral earlier this year during the BLM movement.

Made per usual, dairy and nut-free, the Kid at Heart Bundle is perfect for kids and the kid in all of us! With one slice of their famous Mary Lee’s Lemon Cake, one fudge brownie, half a dozen assorted donuts (2 original, 2 lemon, 2 red velvet), one dozen cookies (2 flavors, baker’s choice of chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, double chocolate or sprinkle sugar cookies), there’s a little something for the whole family to enjoy.
Holiday Cookie Bundle
For the holidays, Southern Roots Vegan Bakery has already gone live with their Pumpkin Spice Donuts and Holiday Cookie Bundle, which will be available until the end of the year.
“This is our favorite time of year, once fall rolls around in San Antonio, and we can all enjoy the traditional holiday flavors,” said Cara Pitts, who creates all of the recipes. “It’s always fun coming up with new goodies for our customers. We use real pumpkin in the Pumpkin Spice Donuts of course, but the spice is light, so they’re just moist, yummy vegan donuts that go perfectly with a cup of coffee. I also got to develop the recipe for our new sprinkle sugar cookies, which are part of the Holiday Cookie Bundle. Just like potato chips, no one can eat just one!”
With four Oatmeal Raisin Cookies, four Chocolate Chip Cookies, four Double Chocolate Chip Cookies and four Sprinkle Sugar Cookies, the Holiday Cookie Bundle might just be enough to keep Santa happy, that is, if you’re willing to share.
