Eclipse Foods. As the first plant-based ice cream that is indistinguishable from dairy, Eclipse’s pints are creamy & rich without compromising the taste. For Earth Day this year, they are practicing what they preach – quite literally. Since launching last year, Eclipse has offset more than 1,200 dairy cows from farm animal cruelty, which in turn dramatically lowered greenhouse gas emissions.
But this year, to take it a step further, Eclipse is adopting and rescuing their own cow.
Eclipse co-Founder, Aylon Steinhart and his team have committed to adopting and rescuing Honey, a 13-year-old former dairy cow, and placing her in Charlie’s Acres, a farm animal sanctuary based in Sonoma, CA where animals can live their natural lives in peace.
Prior to adopting, Honey was being used at a commercial dairy farm, where she was deemed too old to continue to be bred and produce milk commercially. As luck would have it, Honey and her baby boy Benjamin, ended up both being saved from slaughter and now live safely together at Charlie’s Acres.
