NEW YORK – May 22, 2023 – From its initial launch in May of 2018, abillion, the plant-based and sustainability focused app, has had as its mission to mobilize a billion people to save the planet by making better consumer choices. The app is proud to announce it is celebrating its 5 year anniversary this May.
From its humble beginnings helping one non-profit, the Leilani Farm Sanctuary in Hawaii, to donating over $2.8 million to its global impact partners from over 180 countries around the world, abillion has seen rapid, sustained growth. The app has had over 1 million downloads from its members around the globe and a 20x growth rate over the past two years. Furthering its global presence, abillion was proud to be a Presenting Sponsor at this past weekend’s Vegan Women Summit, whose community reaches over 50,000 members from 31 countries around the world.
What makes abillion so unique is that every time a member of the community posts a review of a product or a dish at a restaurant they receive the opportunity to select the non-profit partner who will receive a donation from the company. Members also receive equity in abillion for every review and in the last year alone over 12,000 members from over 100 different countries have secured $273,000 in equity in the company.

To celebrate its 5th anniversary, abillion is having a special campaign whereby whenever a member invites a friend to sign up for the app, both they and the new member receive $1 in impact credits to donate to abillion’s non-profit partners.
Reaction from members around the world has been overwhelming and investors have also been impressed with abillion’s unique project as shown by the company raising over $17 million of investment since inception. The company recently closed its first ever community investment round, where 290 members from around the globe invested over $500,000 in the company, thereby furthering the abillion’s goal of democratizing the app for its members.
