Tuesday 1st June 2021 – Today, following a £1.6 million Seed Round led by the Good Food Fund and Seedrs, fast-growing meat-free brand Better Nature are launching their brand-new product range. With new flavours at lower prices, they plan to make their tasty products even more accessible, keeping up with growing consumer demand for more healthy, naturally delicious meat-free food. Launching just in time for summer, these new products can be the staple of any vegan BBQ, brunch or Sunday roast dinner with the family.
The new range consists of tempeh-based products including Southern-Style BBQ Ribz, Sweet & Smoky Rashers, Traditional & Tender Roast Bites and Shawarma-spiced Kebab Strips, each priced between £2.49 and £2.99 to help make adopting a plant-based diet a more accessible option for everyday consumers. The new product range is quick and simple to prepare, and can be easily incorporated into a wide variety of recipes and classic mealtime favourites.
Products will be available from 1st June 2021 on Better Nature’s website, as well as on Amazon and TheVeganKind Supermarket, with exciting conversations taking place with other leading retailers for future launches. Following their recent partnership with Mindful Chef, the new Sweet & Smoky Rashers will also be available as part of a brand-new recipe launching on the 12th July.
As with all of Better Nature’s products, the new range will be highly nutritious, packed with protein and fibre and great for the gut, to support a healthy diet and lifestyle. The products have been reviewed on their carbon footprint by UK sustainability start-up Foodsteps, receiving the highest possible A rating. They are also both carbon and plastic negative, meaning they offset double what they produce – tying in with the brand’s mission to make their products as ethical and sustainable as possible and create meat-alternatives that don’t compromise on people, the planet, or animals.
Fabio Rinaldo, Co-founder and Head of Product Development and Operations at Better Nature comments, “This new range is a result of our ongoing mission to make a plant-based lifestyle more accessible and enjoyable, by removing the need to compromise on either taste or nutrition when choosing plant-based foods.
Our delicious new products can be prepared in just five minutes, meaning even those with a hectic lifestyle don’t need to compromise on nutrition. They take on more familiar forms than traditional tempeh, and we hope that this, paired with their great taste and versatility, will mean more flexitarians can choose meat-free more often.”

About Better Nature
Better Nature is an innovative meat-free brand founded in 2018 by four foodies – Indonesian-born food scientist Dr. Amadeus Driando Ahnan-Winarno, biochemist-turned-entrepreneur Christopher Kong, product developer Fabio Rinaldo and marketing strategist Elin Roberts.
Better Nature was founded on a mission to end the suffering caused by the animal protein industry and create a happier, healthier, more sustainable planet for everyone. This is why they create protein without compromise – sustainable meat alternatives that are as nutritious as they are delicious. They do so using tempeh – an all-natural plant-based protein originating in Indonesia that’s high in protein and fibre, packed with micronutrients and being fermented, is great for the gut.
The company has won multiple awards including three international food tech competitions, two world-class equity-free incubator and accelerator programmes. They won Best New High-Protein Food and Beverage Startup at the 11th Protein Summit, the TWB Startup Award and more recently, the Most Innovative Plant- or Cereal-based Food Ingredient at Fi Europe. They have registered four patents, one approved and three pending.
In March 2021, Better Nature closed £1.6 million in a Seedrs crowdfunding campaign, which hit its initial target of £1,350,000 within 3 hours of the private launch then its final target within 2 days. The raise will help Better Nature bolster its marketing and product development roadmap for 2021.
