Hosted by humanistic events company Delicious Future in partnership with plant-based advisory firm Consciously Planted, this meal will bring together passionate advocates to explore the regenerative future of food;
a portion of proceeds will be donated to The Martha Project and CityHope.
This month, immersive plant-based dinner “A Taste of the Future” by conversation-provoking dinner series Future Feasts will bring diverse guests together to demonstrate that the future of food can be empowering to humans: delicious, exciting, optimistic, inclusive and participatory.
Guests to the event will enjoy an exclusive preview of pre-launch products, including Prime Roots vegan charcuterie and foie gras, Sundial’s new “bone-in” plant-based chicken wings, and Aurapea’s Vera chickpea-based crumble products.
Founders Raphaelle Moatti and Stephen Golmann established the Future Feasts series and its parent company Delicious Future to showcase what we’ll be eating a decade from now for people and the planet to continue to flourish.
“We are at a crucial moment in time where there is so much innovation happening in and around our food system, from food tech and AI to the rediscovery of indigenous foods and techniques: it is an unprecedented opportunity to shift not only our paradigms but also our individual habits,” says Raphaelle Moatti, a designer, innovator and connector who has worked in personalized medicine and wellness products and services.
Future Feasts is proud to partner with Chef Nicole Derseweh, whose non-profit The Martha Project brings plant-based food and human connection to the houseless in Los Angeles (recently featured on Rachel Ray) and will receive a portion of the profits, alongside SF-based organization CityHope, which also supports houseless individuals and families.
“Adopting a plant-based diet is the number one thing you can do to reduce your environmental impact on the planet. I’m excited to showcase how eating sustainably can be better for our health and ecosystems, and to usher in a new wave of culinary artistry through plant-based meals that rank among the best foodie experiences anywhere,” says Derseweh.
Jennifer shares, “Our food systems need to change and entrepreneurs are the future. We want each of these Future Feasts dinners to create discussion and support entrepreneurs while showcasing incredible pre-market products as a sneak-peak into what we will be eating three – ten years from now. “
“Entrepreneurship is my favorite form of activism. Future Feasts is such an important concept because it gives a voice to entrepreneurs and a space for them to create change by showcasing their pre-market products to other entrepreneurs, investors, innovators and change-makers. This builds community and discussion around the needed shifts in our the food system and pushes for an environment of collaboration, not competition. Big ag has it all wrong, our food system can’t just be about profits anymore, it has to move towards full sustainability; that means sustainable companies, products, ingredients and mindsets.”
Menu standouts include Carrot Lox and Caviar Blinis, Beet Prosciutto with Pear, Blue Vein Cheese, and Arugula and Seared King Oyster Scallops over Cauliflower Pea Purée. Courses will be paired with sustainably produced wines, cocktails sponsored by Endless West and non-alcoholic beverages by Free Spirits, curated by award-winning mixologist Carlo Splendorini of SF’s Modernist Social Club, included in the ticket price.
A Taste of the Future is co-hosted by Consciously Planted, a business advisory firm for early-stage, plant-based sustainable brands, founded by serial entrepreneur Jennifer Estevez.
“How we eat needs to change, both for our health and for the planet,”says Estevez, who planned the event to coincide with the Future Food-Tech conference (03.24-25.22) to maximize reach and impact, and bring some of the most influential people in this space to the table. “These dinners are all about showcasing the future of sustainable regenerative food and building community. We will feature amazing new products and up-and-coming entrepreneurs who are moving the needle to drive broader discussion.”
Future Feasts’ first dinner The Wild Coast, held at a private home in San Francisco on March 5 and which featured sustainable coastal food prepared by Chef and Forager Maria Finn, was a sell-out success.
The secret venue for A Taste of the Future will be revealed closer to the event date. Future Feasts is inclusive and accessible to all: anyone keen to attend can visit the Future Feasts website to register their interest in purchasing a ticket via the website.
