White Castle will roll out the new GOOD PLANeT Foods dairy-free cheese alternative in its New Jersey and New York City restaurants before introducing it nationally.
GOOD PLANeT Foods, a premium plant-based food company known for its environmentally-friendly, delicious and meltable cheeses, will soon join White Castle’s menu to accompany the chain’s nationally-recognized menu. This March, the country’s first fast-food hamburger chain will also soon become the U.S.’s first fast-food hamburger chain to offer a dairy-free alternative to cheddar cheese.
Customers will be able to order dairy-free cheddar to top any slider, including the Impossible™ Slider, the plant-based slider White Castle introduced in April 2018. This milestone also marks the first time plant-based consumers can dine at a major Quick Serve Restaurant and order a main entrée item with absolutely no sacrifice.
“Our plant-based cheeses have made major strides within the category, and our goal is to continue focusing on our leading innovation and to continue to offer our partners the best plant-based alternatives in the marketplace,” says David Israel, CEO of GOOD PLANeT Foods and longtime food industry pioneer. “This is another big step for us and for the category, overall.”
