Free scoops for the first 100 customers on National Ice Cream Day, Sunday, July 16th
Philadelphia – HipCityVeg and The Franklin Fountain, two legendary Philadelphia-based food brands, team up this summer for an epic Philly collaboration, with a limited-release vegan ice cream flavor that will exclusively be available at HipCityVeg starting Sunday.
The collaboration kicks off at 11 AM on Sunday, July 16, National Ice Cream Day, with free ice cream at HipCityVeg’s Rittenhouse and Suburban Square locations.
The Franklin Fountain, the iconic local ice cream shop based in Philadelphia’s historic Old City, crafted a vegan Mint Chocolate Chip flavor exclusively for HipCityVeg. The swirls of bean-to-bar dark chocolate in the ice cream are made by Shane’s Confectionery, America’s oldest candy store. The Franklin Fountain was created in 2004 by the Berley Brothers, Eric and Ryan. Its ice creams are hand-churned in a turn-of-the-century building in the heart of Old City.
HipCityVeg, the vegan restaurant chain created by Nicole Marquis, opened its first location in Rittenhouse Square in 2012. While widely known for its creamy vegan shakes with seasonal flavors like Cold Brew Mocha, Caramel Apple, and Birthday Cake, HipCityVeg first started selling ice cream by the scoop this summer and will expand its offerings with this collaboration.
