SAN FRANCISCO (May 26, 2021) — NBA All-Star and Olympic gold medalist DeAndre Jordan, center for the Brooklyn Nets, and Jrue Holiday, point-guard for the Milwaukee Bucks, have been named the first-ever professional athlete brand ambassadors for the award-winning, plant-based JUST Egg, Eat Just, Inc., a company that applies cutting-edge science and technology to create healthier, more sustainable foods, announced today.
After experiencing first-hand, the health and performance benefits of a plant-based diet and a better egg made from plants, both Jordan and Holiday are excited to team up with JUST Egg, America’s fastest growing egg brand, to increase awareness of the delicious product that’s better for our bodies and better for the planet. Joined by other prominent professional athletes, Jordan and Holiday are in tune with what they put into their bodies and understand how a balanced, plant-forward diet impacts their health and performance, on and off the court.
“I started my plant-based journey three years ago and haven’t looked back. As a professional athlete and a parent, I’m constantly thinking about ways to nourish my body and enhance my performance, while also balancing a healthy, mindful lifestyle at home. Whether at home or on the road, my morning always starts with a healthy, high-protein breakfast that keeps me going throughout the day. I’m proud to join the Eat Just team as an ambassador and to share the JUST Egg love with my friends and family,” said Jordan, a three-time All-NBA and two-time NBA All-Defensive Team member.
“I’m excited to join Eat Just as an ambassador because I truly believe that what you put in your body matters. Game changing products like JUST Egg allow me to push further as an athlete in ways that I couldn’t even imagine. Incorporating more and more plant-based foods into my diet over the past few years has greatly improved my endurance, recovery time and overall performance,” said Holiday, also an NBA All-Star and two-time NBA All-Defensive Team member.
“As a former college athlete, I have a deep admiration and appreciation for the work that professional athletes put into their sport which starts with how they treat their bodies. I’m thrilled to welcome DeAndre and Jrue as our first ambassadors at Eat Just and I’m proud to share the same commitment to eating a healthier plant-based diet, while also making our communities stronger and our planet more sustainable,” said Josh Tetrick, CEO and co-founder of Eat Just.
Throughout the 2021-2022 basketball season, Jordan and Holiday will work with Eat Just to produce original content and unique engagement opportunities to raise awareness about JUST Egg with their fans. Jordan is kicking off his ambassadorship by sharing his JUST Egg morning ritual in a light-hearted cooking video that can be viewed here. Today’s announcement marks the beginning of Eat Just’s athlete ambassador program as more professional athletes across different sports are changing their relationship with food and embracing plant-forward eating.
JUST Egg will also be featured in two episodes of his upcoming “Cooking Clean” series on PlayersTV, the athlete-owned lifestyle TV network and media company. “Cooking Clean,” a plant-based cooking show, features Jordan demonstrating his culinary skills while sharing healthy plant-based recipes alongside guest chefs. The two episodes featuring JUST Egg showcase a delicious veggie omelet with Brooklyn-based chef and restauranteur, Chef Latisha Daring and a kimchi fried rice dish with plant-based influencer and blogger Joanne Molinaro, The Korean Vegan.
JUST Egg products include a 12oz pourable format that’s perfect for scrambles, omelets, quiches, stir-fries, and a variety of baking applications. JUST Egg Folded, a fluffy, pre-baked frozen format is toaster-ready, packed with 7g of clean, sustainable protein, free of cholesterol, and perfect on top of toast or inside a breakfast sandwich. JUST Egg Sous Vide, on-shelf nationally in June, comes in four unique and distinct flavors inspired by regional cuisines and whole plants.
