The turmoil of the past couple of years has negatively impacted many lives and small businesses. In July 2020, Jrue Holiday, Milwaukee Bucks player and JUST Egg ambassador, and his wife Lauren diverted the remainder of their 2020 salaries to launch the JLH Fund, a social impact fund to support Black-owned establishments through grants and resources.
One recipient of those grants is Lemel Durrah, founder of Compton Vegan. With support from the JLH Fund, Lemel was able to expand operations of Compton Vegan, while continuing to provide delicious, plant-based foods to his Compton community. Now, Compton Vegan, Jrue, and Eat Just have come together to launch a breakfast sandwich with 100% of the proceeds going to the JLH Fund to create more grants to support more businesses.
The limited-edition breakfast sandwich incorporates Jrue’s favorite ingredients. Aptly named “Jrue’s JUST Egg Sandwich: Breakfast of Champs”, the sandwich includes JUST Egg Folded, Be Leaf plant-based bacon, Violife plant-based cheddar, strawberry jam, and everything bagel seasoning all stacked on an English muffin.
Compton Vegan guests can enjoy the Breakfast of Champs sandwich from 9/29 through 10/17, with Vegandale Festival attendees having a final chance to order the sandwich on 10/23 at the Los Angeles festival.
