(Bethesda, MD – Feb. 27, 2023) The Planet Bethesda festival is returning to Elm Street Park on June 4, 2023, building on the success of the inaugural event in 2022. The food and music festival promotes and raises awareness of the benefits of plant-based eating and will feature a variety of vendors and local restaurants serving cutting-edge and creative plant-based cuisine. The 2nd Annual Planet Bethesda festival will be held in conjunction with a National Alternative Dairy Month celebration, and include a plant-based pie eating contest, Bier Garten, Canine Courtyard, live entertainment and free children’s activities.
The event is hosted by FARM Animal Rights Movement in association with Sustainable Earth Eating (SEE), and the Physician’s Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM).
“We were thrilled with the turnout for last year’s festival and how the community embraced the event,” said Eric C. Lindstrom, Executive Director of FARM. “Montgomery County is home to so many great plant-based food options and businesses.”
Planet Bethesda will also have music by DJ Soul, an interactive Kid’s Korner with free activities, a Canine Courtyard, a Bier Garten, Animal Ambassadors from Rosie’s Farm Sanctuary, presentations, giveaways and much more.
The event will be on June 4, 2023 from 12:00-6:00 PM and is free to the public. Food and beverages are available for purchase. Elm Street Park is a two-minute walk from the Bethesda Metro Station. Dog attendance is encouraged.
Vendors include: Red Bandana Bakery, True Foods Kitchen, Dog Haus, Bethesda Curry Kitchen, Zoe’s Vegan Delights, In The Raw with Soul, Zao Ramen Stamina, Clayboys, Jarabes, Clean Source Energy, Green Earth Travel, Guardado’s, Zoe’s Delights, Berries & Bowls, and so many more.
“I was inspired by the response to the first Planet Bethesda festival. It’s encouraging to see the strong support for veganism and sustainability in our community. We are looking forward to expanding the event in 2023” said Lisa DeCrescente, Special Events & Projects Director for FARM.
