Going forward, the Montreal Canadiens’ stadium will offer plant-based menu items. Field Roast and Lightlife––which is a subsidiary company under Greenleaf Foods SPC––just signed a contract that locks them in for three years as the exclusive plant-based partner for the Canadian professional hockey team Montreal Canadiens.
For fans of the team, the partnership means that they will now be able to enjoy plant-based menu items at the Montreal Canadien home stadium: Montreal’s Bell Centre. The Canadiens’ home stadium will offer two Field Roast & Lightlife menu items: the Field Roast Mexican Bowl and the Lightlife Burger.
To entice current fans and newcomers to enjoy vegan foods, the team’s stadium will feature Lightlife and Field Roast advertisements in the form of digital signs found throughout the facility.
In a recent press release, Greenleaf Foods SPC CEO Dan Curtin said, “Not only is Montreal’s food culture well known across Canada—and internationally—the Montreal Canadiens’ fanbase is first-class. Aligning our two organizations to offer delicious, high-quality plant-based foods during home games and sampling events is an incredible opportunity. We couldn’t be more excited about this partnership.”
Greenleaf Foods SPC’s partnership with the Montreal Canadiens follows suit of a recent––and monumental––partnership in the U.S. In fall of 2019, plant-based brand Lightlife secured a partnership with the NFL team the Los Angeles Rams, bringing the brand’s plant-based burgers to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. As we move forward the parent company has hopes to secure even more partnerships within the sports and entertainment industry.
