Recipes from The Ranch Malibu to help enjoy a healthy breakfast that will set up your days for sustained energy and wellness while working from home.
Maria Romeralo, healthy nutrition expert from SHA Wellness Clinic:
“When we start the day with sugary coffee and a pastry, we instantly feel good and full of energy. However, after a while, our energy levels drop and our bodies demand more sugar. This is why it’s important to avoid refined sugar, artificial sweeteners and honey at breakfast.”
Ingredients
2 large ripe bananas
2 cups vanilla coconut yogurt
8 – 10 Medjool dates, halved and pitted
2 generous pinches of whole nutmeg,
freshly grated
2 pinches of sea salt, plus
additional to taste
2 cups ice
Directions
Place all of the ingredients into a blender.
Blend on high, adding the ice cubes until completely smooth.
Add 1 – 2 Tbsp of cold water if needed to adjust consistency and an additional pinch of salt to taste
if desired.
Recipe Note
Dates help bring a natural sweetness to dishes while being incredibly beneficial
for the body. Widely known to ease constipation and promote digestive health,
dates are also rich in antioxidants that support the brain, eyes and heart.
