Atlanta Vegan Food Restaurant Teams Up with Plant-Based Food Giant to Provide Ongoing Food Deliveries to Atlanta’s Police Department, Fire Rescue and Waste Management Organizations
Slutty Vegan ATL and Impossible Foods are partnering to deliver thousands of burgers to the City of Atlanta’s supported foundations, including all of Atlanta’s police departments, fire stations and waste management facilities.
This effort will consist of ongoing meal support for first responders in the Atlanta community.
The initiative will kick off this Sunday, May 31, with Slutty Vegan and Impossible Foods distributing burgers, chips, and drinks to the Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation. The next distribution (to the same foundation) will then happen on Sunday, June 7 and Monday, June 8.
Distributions to the Atlanta Police Department and #ATLStrong (a service that rounds up Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms’ emergency orders and assistance programs related to the coronavirus pandemic) will, then, follow.
“We are appreciative of our essential workers as they have been spending countless hours to help us push through this pandemic,” says Pinky Cole. “They are risking both their lives and time away from their families to make sure our city stays strong in our fight,” she adds.
This partnership is another initiative under Cole’s Pinky Cole Foundation, which recently launched a COVID-19 plan to support the health, safety, and well-being of the community during this time of despair. Other initiatives have included paying the rent for other small businesses in the Metro-Atlanta area, paying for college students to return home to be with their families during this pandemic, and launching an Entrepreneurs Anonymous Digital initiative to help businesses hit hard by this pandemic.
The food drops will take place at various police departments, fire stations and waste management centers throughout the city of Atlanta.
The Slutty Vegan food truck will be on-site, cooking meals in real time to make sure they are received warm.
