
The holidays have arrived and for many that means deciding what dishes to cook for upcoming holiday meals. For those of us who prescribe to a plant-based diet, this can be tricky, especially if we’re eating with family members who have yet to make a change to their diet.
If you are plant-based and wondering what you’ll have to eat at your family’s holiday meals, you’re not alone! In fact, a recent survey found that a third of all American households now plan for a plant-based family member during the holidays. The survey also found that this change is a generational one. While 70% of millennials would be happy to make a plant-based version of a holiday recipe, only 33% of baby boomers would be willing to do the same. Although baby boomers might not be willing to change their diets for themselves, half of them say they will be making a plant-based dish for the holidays this season.
While it can be stressful to make sure you have enough to eat around the holidays, it’s encouraging to see that more people making plant-based dishes. In fact, we think the holidays are a great opportunity to show others just how delicious a plant-based meal can be.
