Have you “herd”? The results from the 2021 Goat Games are in! The collective effort of 10 farmed animal sanctuaries, 148 athletes and 1,589 supporters raised $217,170.81 for farmed animals across the United States!
In 20 years of animal rescue work, the Goat Games host, Catskill Animal Sanctuary (CAS), a nonprofit, 155-acre refuge in New York’s Hudson Valley, has truly never seen anything like this before. The power of everyone’s collective effort resulted in meaningful and inspiring impact.
The Goat Games encouraged human athletes to rally behind Goat Champions representing 10 participating sanctuaries across the U.S. to run, walk, bike, hike – whatever floated their goat – all while raising funds for rescued farmed animals. The Games were co-hosted with the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS), the certifying body for sanctuaries. These sanctuaries provide a haven for animals who’ve been abused, abandoned, or worse.

The games even garnered the support of Olympian athletes – Dotsie Bausch and Dustin Watten. Dotsie and Dustin are among hundreds of athletes who love animals and are committed to a vegan diet firmly believing it improves athletic performance and is compassionate too.
