Premiering on June 9, 2019, at 9 PM, the tenth season of Food Network’s The Great Food Truck Race will feature two vegan food trucks, Sol Food Collective and Baby Got Mac. The two Los Angeles-based food trucks will be firing up their kitchen-on-wheels as they compete for a grand prize of $50,000 and bragging rights as the best food truck of the season.
The Sol Food Collective food truck is operated by LA-based chef and wellness coach Jacquelyn Jones, who adopted a vegan diet to aid in treating her ankylosing spondylitis condition, a severe version of arthritis that affects spinal movement and mobility. Jones says she wants to “show people that you’re not always eating nuts and grains and grass” and “that it can be really yummy, tasty food that you love, like nachos and things like that.”
The other vegan food truck, Baby Got Mac, is operated by the husband and wife duo Clinton and Samantha Jones, who are heavy in the catering business in Los Angeles.
The Great Food Truck Race is hosted by the popular Chef Tyler Florence and will include other well-known food trucks such as Brunch Babes from Michigan, NOLA Creations from Atlanta, People’s Fry from Nashville, and Make It Maple from Vermont.
Sol Food Collective and Baby Got Mac will begin their journey in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on June 9, and will later tour Florida as well.
Will one of these great food trucks be the first vegan truck to win the prize?
