We may not be able to be unicorns, but at least we can feel magical with Unico Nutrition’s vegan protein power: Gemini!
When looking for plant-based protein powders, I always look for three core points:
-protein source
-great taste
-great texture
It’s honestly hard to find one that lines up with all three! I will also admit that colorful branding is another go-to for me, but is usually just a bonus as I just really enjoy fun packaging that’s also sustainable/eco-friendly!
That’s why when I tried our Unico’s Gemini protein powder in their Haley’s Vanilla flavor, I was really impressed! Unico’s vegan-friendly powders come in two flavors, Haley’s Vanilla and Cosmic Chocolate. The creamy vanilla flavor of Haley’s Vanilla really stood out to me and when using the full two scoop for what they call a “meal-replacement”, it was an especially thick texture with a nice, smooth finish.
I later tried the Cosmic Chocolate and was also impressed with the thickness, without it being chalky or gritty, but instead smooth and creamy. It was as if I was truly drinking a think, chocolate milkshake!
What is especially impressive and unique to me is how Unico’s vegan protein powders are a low-calorie, low-carb protein powder, that also does great for baking. I have yet to venture into the muffins or brownies, but I have seen on their instagram that it’s time for me to break out the oven mits to get to it! I guess I just got too caught up drinking it plain in my shaker bottle! 😉
All I’ve had to do after a workout or simply after a few hours of working on my laptop and realizing I haven’t eaten in hours, is get two scoops in my shaker bottle, add about a cup of water, and shake! Some people may add nut/oat milk, but honestly, I think Unico’s powder is good on it’s own! Maybe I’m a plain jane, but I like the pure taste!
I’ve found that Gemini’s Haley’s Vanilla and Cosmic Chocolate are also delicious in my morning smoothie bowls and on the go as my in-between meal snacks, for when I just want one scoop instead of two!
