wildCREAMERY Sour Cream Alternative was recently announced as this year’s NEXTY award-winner for Best New Condiment. wildbrine, a producer of naturally fermented, krauts, kimchis, srirachas, and salsas launched its wildCREAMERY line of plant-based dairy alternatives earlier this year, which includes plant-based butter, sour cream, cream cheese, and four creamery-style dips.
NEXTY Awards are given yearly to products that display outstanding innovation, inspiration, and integrity. These products help drive the underlying goal of the natural products industry to deliver more healthful, trusted, and sustainable products to consumers. This year there were more than 800 entries across 23 categories such as Best New Mission-based Product, Best New Organic Food and Best New Supplement. wildCREAMERY Sour Cream Alternative was one of only 77 finalists selected by New Hope Network’s panel of natural products industry experts. Winners were announced on Thursday, May 27 during Expo West Virtual Week.
“We are thrilled to have won this award in our first year submitting our new wildCREAMERY products,” said Chris Glab, Co-founder of wildbrine. “In addition to winning Best New Condiment, we were finalists in two other categories with the same sour cream and our plant-based butter. We feel this is testament to the fact our new wildCREAMERY line is setting a new standard in plant based dairy products. We believe the reason for this is the use of our own proprietary cultures making the products taste remarkably like the dairy versions.”
wildCREAMERY products were created in the kitchen with real food, not in a science lab. Made with plants instead of milk, the creamery recipes use the same lactobacillus cultures that flavor dairy butter and many cheeses. Bringing the fermentation expertise from the wildbrine side of the business, wildCREAMERY makes their own proprietary wild cultures that deliver that dairy-style taste but from a fermentation of plants. The result is a similar creamy, rich texture in the creamery’s non-dairy dips, butter, sour cream, and cream cheese, which are all preservative-free, vegan, Non-GMO, and gluten-free. wildCREAMERY’s new items are available in supermarkets and natural food stores nationwide, as well as at wildbrine.com.
The NEXTY Awards is a biannual awards program connected to New Hope Network’s in-person and digital events. They were created to recognize the pinnacle of excellence in the natural products industry, elevating impactful brands and products that inspire a healthy, sustainable future for people and planet.
“We consider ourselves industry experts on the New Hope Network editorial team. Through extensive debate and deliberation, we have carefully selected 23 outstanding brands that are pushing the natural products industry towards a healthier and more sustainable future for people and planet,” says Adrienne Smith, who manages the NEXTY Awards program at New Hope Network. “To rise above hundreds of other nominations is an incredible feat. We are incredibly excited about these products and the impact they can have on our food system. The winners of our NEXTY Awards inspire change and integrity in everything from ingredients to packaging.”
